Easter 2025 at Benoni Baptist Church

Easter is coming. Next week in fact. It’s a special time when we remember the death and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And you’re invited, together with those you care about, to join us for our Easter celebrations.

These gatherings focus on the gospel. They will build up believers and welcome those exploring the Christian faith.

Here’s our plan:

On Good Friday, 18 April, we will meet at Benoni Baptist Church from 9:30 to 11:00am. We will reflect on Christ’s death and the hope it brings. Andre Broodryk will preach, and we will celebrate communion together.

Early on Resurrection Sunday morning, 20 April, we will gather at Homestead Dam, at 6:00am. Meet us at the bottom of Crocodile Road. Bring a blanket, a flask of coffee, and dress warmly. We’ll provide 40 chairs from church, but if you have a comfy camp chair bring that along. We’ll set up some lighting to help. The Bowie’s have offered to make their bathroom available to anyone who may need the toilet (they stay at the bottom of Crocodile). This service is family-friendly, and Gerhard Wessels will preach.

On Resurrection Sunday morning, we’ll meet again at 9:30am at Benoni Baptist Church, to celebrate the risen Lord. Mark Penrith will preach.

We’ve printed invite cards with a link to our website. Use them to invite someone. Why invite a friend? Because it matters. Research says 82% of unchurched people would attend church if someone invited them. Most who come to Christ first come to church with a friend. Many are open to that conversation. When was the last time you invited a friend, neighbour, or coworker to church? If you invited 10 people, chances are 8 would seriously consider it.

May the LORD be glorified as His people celebrate His Son.
