He is risen

Easter weekend is upon us. Its the week we remember the most important event in history. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

On Friday, we reflect on the cross. In Matthew 27, Jesus was falsely accused, mocked, beaten, and crucified. The crowds rejected Him. His closest followers deserted Him. Even the criminals mocked Him. And then, in the darkest moment, He cries out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” And heaven is silent.

It’s a staggering moment. Jesus bore the weight of our sin. And the Father turned His face away. So that we might be forgiven. This is why the cross is not just a symbol of pain. It is a symbol of love. The gospel tells us we are more sinful than we realised, but more loved than we ever dared hope.

Then, on Sunday, we celebrate. Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb. He rose again. Death is not the end. Sin is not the final word. Because He lives, we have hope—real hope. This is why Christians make a big deal about Easter. Because it is a big deal. Jesus is alive. And that changes everything.

Don’t let this weekend pass by quietly. Come worship with us. Bring your kids. Invite your neighbours. Let them hear the good news.

  • Friday, 9:30am, church.
  • Sunday, 6:00am, Homestead Dam.

And come with a heart ready to rejoice. Jesus walked into death so you could walk into life. He is risen! He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!
