As a church we move forward on our knees. Not by strategy. Nor by strength. In Acts 4 the believers prayed together. And the place where they were gathered was shaken, and the world changed. In Acts 13 the church at Antioch was worshipping and fasting. And the Spirit set apart Paul and Barnabas, and the gospel went forth. Corporate prayer is not optional. It is the engine of church growth. Our plea for mercy. Our summons to faith.
We will have a week of prayer focus. Our elders will lead our times together. We meet in the fellowship hall, 6:00 to 7:00 pm, on Wednesday 14 January, Thursday 15 January, Friday 16 January, and Sunday 18 January. We will cycle through our core values. Transformational teaching: teaching that calls for life change. Exalting worship: worship that magnifies the Lord. Loving fellowship: care that bears one another up. Missional living: sharing the gospel with urgency and purpose. We will pray individually. We will pray in small groups. We will pray collectively. Our prayer focus will be in person only. It will not be streamed. Or recorded. Be present. Be earnest. Be expectant.
Please put these nights in your diary. Wednesday 14 January. Thursday 15 January. Friday 16 January. and Sunday 18 January. 6:00 to 7:00 pm. In the fellowship hall. Come prepared to contribute. Come ready to confess. Come ready to ask.
Behold what God does when a people pray together. He moves. He sends. He builds. Will you bend the knee? Will you come and pray with us? I look forward to standing with you before our God.
