Preach 2026 has come and gone. Over one hundred and twenty delegates. From forty churches. It was a gift. It took so many hands to make it work. I want to say thank you for every welcome, every song, every technical detail, and every cup of coffee.
Ian and our service coordinators—you kept the machine running smoothly. Making sure every room was prepared. Quiet, behind-the-scenes diligence. Our door greeters on the day (Kaitlyn, Kevin, and Martie)—you made strangers feel welcome. Often the first friendly face. Jason and our technology team (Zani, Isaac)—often unseen. Screens, sound, slides. Your efforts meant the Word was heard without distraction. The congregation does not see you. But the Lord does. Lance and our worship team (Stuart, Yum Yum, David, Thomas, Tyrone)—you led us to the throne of grace. Not performance. Not entertainment. Worship. Rina and the hospitality team (Angela, Hannelize, Liezl)—you fed the hungry. With great cups of coffee. Sonny from the photography team—you captured moments that will speak long after the conference ends. Oh, and the staff, thanks. I’m sure I may have left a team off the list.
And then to all of you who simply greeted people. Who walked a visitor to the right room. Who made eye contact with a stranger. Who had a cheerful conversation. You served without being named. That is the kind of service the Lord treasures most. Not a stage. Not a performance. Not a production. A family welcoming guests to the feast.
The delegates came from far and wide. They came hungry for the Word. And because you served, they found it. Some of them will find a church home at Benoni Baptist Church. We hope that all of them will recommend Benoni Baptist Church to others. Preach 2026 will bear fruit we cannot yet see.
If you are a member of Benoni Baptist Church and you want to get involved, here is your call. The work of the gospel is not done by a few. It is carried by the many. All of us. Go to our website. Find the Next Steps page. Under Get Involved, sign up to minister. The harvest is plentiful. The labourers are few. You have seen what God does when we serve together. Do not stand at a distance. Get involved.
