Parking

Ample visitor parking is available on the church property and outside.

Disability Access

There is enlarged parking close to the entryways. We have no steps at the entrance to the church. But there are steps to the fellowship hall and bathrooms. We have support devices in the bathrooms for those who are physically impaired. We have enlarged doors to halls. There are appropriate thresholds at doors. There are chairs on the flanks of the church suitable for the mobility impaired. There are chairs in the first row suitable for the sight-impaired. There are listening devices suitable for the hearing impaired. Door greeters with visible identification are available to accommodate other special needs.

Guest Information

When you arrive a door greeter will be on hand to say hello and answer any questions you have.

We will not call you to the front or ask you to stand. So, do not fear.

Mothers Room

There is a quiet room for mothers with babies who are 0-18 months. The room has a window view of the main hall, a changing mat, a toy box, a toilet, a basin, and speakers. Follow the signage from the main entrance or ask a door greeter. Many of our mothers sit in the service with their babies unless they become niggly.

Creche

There is a creche facility available to parents whose kids are 3-36 months. It is located in the fellowship hall. And is run by vetted carers. Mommies to please provide nappies and milk.

Sunday School

We run a Sunday school program during the 9:30am service. Children join us for worship and are dismissed just before the sermon. Our Sunday school teachers are vetted annually and take your child’s safety seriously. There is a pre-primary class (3-6 years). A junior primary class (grade 1-3). A senior primary boys class (grade 4-7). And a senior primary girls class (grade 4-7). Our teenagers stay in the main service.

What is Our Worship Like?

Our service includes reading the Word, praying the Word, preaching the Word, Singing the Word and seeing the Word in the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We sing traditional and modern hymns as well as contemporary worship songs. We have a piano, a guitarist, and a team of vocalists. Our children actively participate in worship.

Dress

In Winter some men may wear jeans, some chinos with button-up shirts or jerseys. In Summer some men may wear chinos, some shorts with button-up shirts or t-shirts.

Some woman may wear skirts or dresses, some may wear slacks or jeans, all dress modestly.

Atmosphere

Our worship is joy-filled, our preaching Gospel-centered. We are a friendly, comfortable and diverse community.

Size

We have seating for 330 in our main sanctuary. We have about 230 in regular attendance. There is plenty of room for everybody. We have people who attend from all four corners of Benoni, and some folk from further afield.

Giving

We take up an offering during the service.

Denomination

In the strictest sense, Baptists are non-denominational and each local church is autonomous. Benoni Baptist Church does take part in freewill associations.
