God Is for You

God is for us

Monday, 14 July’s devotional.

“What, then, shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?” (Romans 8:31 CSB) and “He did not even spare his own Son but gave him up for us all” (Romans 8:32 CSB). In today’s devotional Mark Penrith asks, “What, then, shall we say about these things?” setting the stage for our confidence.

When life’s pressures mount—deadlines at work, restless kids at home—you may wonder if anyone truly has your back. But Calvary shows us that the Architect of the universe championed you by giving His very Son. Mark writes, “God is totally, absolutely, amazingly for you.” Your worth isn’t earned; it’s purchased by His sacrifice.

Morning pause (2 min): Whisper “God is for me” as you brew coffee. Let that truth shape every email you send and every meeting you enter. Remember the question Mark poses: “How will he not also with him grant us everything?” and hold fast to the promise that your Provider meets every need.

At dinner, ask your children to name one thing they’d give up for someone they love. Then remind them of Jesus’s greater gift. As Mark puts it, “Your suffering is not evidence of His neglect, it is the arena His proven faithfulness will operate in.” Use the moment to help your kids see how God’s love shows up in everyday challenges.

“Because God is for you,” as Mark proclaims, how might remembering His “for‑you” at the start of your day change the way you face today’s challenges?

Lord, teach us to live in the certainty that You are for us. Help us whisper Your promise each morning. May our work, our homes, and our hearts reflect the confidence that You gave Your Son so we might never stand alone. Amen.
