A maintenance update

I’m sure you’ve notice some changes on the church property. Our maintenance team has been hard at work, fixing, painting, and clearing. Here are some of the tasks we’ve completed:

Cleaning out the rooms and sheds

We’d stored up all kinds of stuff over a very long period, and needed to spring clean, and reduce our clutter so that our store rooms and shed could be used for their intended purpose. Photos are before and after.

Cleaning out the Sunday school rooms

Our Sunday school is growing, and we need space to accommodate kids, and places for our teachers to store materials. Photos are before and after.

Refurbishing the outside bathrooms

We’ve had a need for additional ablution facilities to accommodate our growth. Our outside bathrooms, attached to the meeting room, had been used as storage for many years. We needed to clean it out and refurbish it. Photos are before and after.

Fixing light fittings and replacing bulbs

A number of light fittings and bulbs weren’t working around the church property. This was both a security concern, and made the use of the premise difficult. Photos are before and after.

Clean and ready the braai for use

The young adults, as well as the staff, needed a braai facility so they can have regular fellowship at church.

Painting of boards

We’ve spruced up our notice boards in the fellowship hall and in the lobby.

Upcoming Projects

• Painting the lobby.
• Painting the Sunday school rooms and hanging a large whiteboard.
• Cleaning and repairing the church gutters.

Prayer Points

• Volunteers to join the team (check out the get involved link on our next steps webpage).
• Wisdom for the maintenance team leader (Leon van Staden).
• Financial provision to support ongoing and future maintenance needs (We take up an offering during the service. But, EFTs are a cheaper, more convenient, safer way of transferring money. We encourage members to make electronic transfers).
