A newsletter from Evans Odhiambo

Dear church family,

It is with great delight that I write to express my heartfelt gratitude to you all. Since my arrival in March this year, I have been truly overwhelmed by your love, care, and guidance.

I was warmly welcomed by the Penriths, and so far I have had a memorable time with Mark Penrith’s family. My time with the Greens, Mike and Denise, was also very refreshing. These dear families have introduced me to South African cuisine with great kindness and patience, which has been a delight.

Spending time with the young adults at Mochachos has been fantastic, an experience unlike any other! So far I have already settled for the Mochachos burgers as my favorite. If you invite me for a similar burger, I will tell you all the secrets of Africa.

By God’s grace, I have successfully completed my first semester at Christ Seminary. I sat for the semester’s final exams two weeks ago. Thank you for your faithful prayers and great encouragements. I am deeply grateful.

I hope to continue serving both you and God faithfully, using the skills and gifts He has given me. Please keep praying with me. That I may grow to be a well-equipped, faithful, and excellent minister of the gospel.

Pray also for God’s continued provision for my needs. Pray for my spiritual growth and maturity. Pray that you may see good progress in my journey of ministry. Pastor Mark is currently mentoring me very effectively. I am grateful to you for considering it worthwhile to allow Mark to mentor me. Pray that there shall be good and long-lasting fruit out of the mentorship journey.

What I miss most is my family and friends back in Kenya, and I hope they are keeping well. I also miss being at the equator, the warm weather. But I am grateful that it has pleased God to have me be of your family, for such a season.

With love and thanks,

Evans Odhiambo.
