Did you know, we have an evening service? Did you know, our evening service is on the last Sunday of every month? This Sunday, 28 September. Do you know why we have an evening service? The main reason is to address matters of practical relevance. Answer pressing questions. This Sunday we ask, What happens 5 minutes after you die? In light of the many funerals in recent months. The intention is twofold. Present the gospel to unbelievers. Give assurance of salvation to believers.
How is the evening service similar to the morning service? We read the Word. We sing the Word. We preach the Word. We see the Word in the ordinances. We pray the Word. Morning or evening, the core is the same. The Word of God is central. Christ is exalted. The Spirit is at work.
How is the evening service different to the morning service? In the evening we gather around tables in the fellowship hall. Tea and coffee is served before we begin. The sermon is still expository. But it is stand-alone. Prayer is shared. Sometimes in groups. Sometimes through designated saints.
Our monthly evening service will be this Sunday, 28 September, at 6:00pm. The topic is What happens 5 minutes after I die? We will study Luke 16:19-31. The rich man and Lazarus. And I look forward to seeing you there.
