Sunday was packed. The service was so joyful. The buzz of people arriving and greeting one another warmed my heart. And the singing! What a blessing! I checked the numbers this morning. We have achieved 30% year-over-year growth. Praise the LORD! He is doing something wonderful in our midst. I’ve said it before, and I imagine I’ll say it again. Growth brings complications. We know we have a seating problem. We know we have a parking problem. We can be glad that these are the challenges we are facing. But they still need clear thinking and faithful action.
So here is what we are doing. I spoke with the manufacturer of our seats this morning. Fifty more blue chairs will be delivered next Wednesday. That will immediately relieve pressure in the main hall. As for parking, the elders met this morning. And we have a plan. I have signed a contract with CMS. From this Sunday, a security guard will be on duty, actively patrolling our vehicles. We will open the Linda Street gate. Parking on the street will be safe. Your car will be secure, DV. These steps seem wise to us. Necessary. And timely.
Here is the call. If you are able-bodied, please park on Linda Street. This will free up parking inside the church grounds for visitors. And the frail who need closer access. And now that we have addressed our space constraints, invite your world to church this Sunday. Family. Friends. Benoni needs Jesus. What a joy to gather with His people. To praise His name alongside them. To God alone be the glory! SDG!
