Join 100+ other church members reading the Psalms

If you’ve been wondering how to build consistency in your time with God, this is a great opportunity. Each year, Benoni Baptist Church encourages one another to read through the whole Bible. This Bible read will take you from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. You can start anytime, but next week we begin the book of Psalms, and that makes this a perfect moment to jump in.

The Psalms are rich with emotion. With prayer. With praise. They teach us how to bring every part of life to God. Joy, fear, sorrow, thanksgiving, repentance. The Psalms give us words when we have none. They help us worship when we are weary. They remind us that God is near, even in the darkest valley. As you read them, you’ll see Christ more clearly, and learn to pray more deeply.

Here’s how the Bible read works

• Weekly schedule: Every Monday, I post the readings for the week to come.
• Book highlights: At the start of each book, I share an overview from The Bible Project. These are great for getting the bog picture.
• Daily encouragement: You mark your reading each day by ticking the poll in the WhatsApp group.

We’ve been running the plan for six months. 114 people have joined so far. Each day, 20–40 of us check in and mark our reading. That kind of accountability helps. It also reminds us that we are reading together as a church family. On Wednesday evenings, at church, at 7:00pm, we work through one of the passages we’ve read that week in Bible study.
