How we plan on developing leaders

The apostle Paul said to Timothy, What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Church leadership matters. The strength of a congregation is often reflected by the strength of its men. Weak men produce weak churches. But when men rise to the call of God, when they love the Word, serve the saints, and shepherd their homes, the church flourishes.

I want our church to flourish, and so I know it’s wise to invest in the development of future church leaders. Here is my invitation. Beginning this Wednesday, 7:00pm, in the fellowship hall, we will start a program for men.

We will use material from XL Ministries, Becoming a Biblical Leader. You can download a PDF version of the book here for FREE: https://xlministries.org/books. If you would prefer a hardcopy, the book will be available for purchase at cost price of R150,00. Becoming a Biblical Leader equips future elders, deacons, and lay leaders. Men who desire to grow in biblical knowledge, godly character, and faithful service. We will meet weekly. We will study deeply. We will think carefully. And we will challenge one another to live as men of God.

You may not be an elder yet. You may not be a deacon. But if you aspire to lead your home well, love your church faithfully, and follow Christ courageously, this is for you. Every man should desire to be the kind of man God can trust with His people.

Men, the world is desperate for leaders of conviction. Not celebrities. Not politicians. Shepherds. Servants. Stewards of the gospel. Will you rise to the call? Join us this Wednesday at 7:00pm. Come ready to learn. Come ready to lead. Come ready to be changed.

P.S. Ladies, the same training is available to you too. Speak to Liezl if you would like more information.
