Chosing songs to add to our hymnology is not a lightweight thing. And we’ve have a new addition. Not a passing emotion dressed in melody. A prayer set to music.

That is not a vague sentiment. That is theology on its knees. That is the confession of a man who knows he cannot generate his own spiritual life. That is the prayer of a father who has tried and failed and tries again.
Bring the presence of the risen Lord To renew my heart and make me whole.
This is what we need. Not more information. Not a better strategy. The presence of the risen Lord. The Spirit’s renewing work. That is the gospel applied. That is the Christian life.
We sing this song because it sings the Word. Colossians 3:16 tells us to let the word of Christ dwell richly among us, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. This song does that. It draws from Scripture. It breathes Scripture. It shapes desire and teaches truth.
We sing this song because it is doctrinally clear. It names the Spirit. It names the Son. It names the work of renewal. There is nothing vague here. Nothing soft. Nothing that could be mistaken for something else.
We sing this song because it is pastorally wise. It gives words to the weary. It gives voice to the one who knows they need help. It helps fathers sing with their wives and children. It helps the whole church sing with heart and understanding.
And we sing this song because Christ stands at its centre. The presence of the risen Lord. That is the burden. That is the gift. That is the hope.
So I commend this song to you. We’ll sing it for the first time this Sunday, 13 September 2026. Learn it. Sing it. Pray it. Not for the melody. For the truth. Not for the moment. For the life.
