I hope that you are prospering in every way. And are in good health. As it goes well in your soul.
What is happening?
The elders of Benoni Baptist Church want to engage with the church as we evaluate, and rewrite, our constitution. Our intention is to ensure it reflects our present DNA and Biblical aspiration. I’d like to invite anyone who wants to interact to Liezl and my home on Thursday evening, 27 March, 7:00pm. Over coffee we will chat through chapter 1 of Understanding Church Leadership. Our address is 37 Godwin Road, Farrarmere, Benoni.
This Sunday morning, 30 March, 9:30am, Stephan Museler will preach. Stephan loves Jesus, and is called to ministry. He is married, and has two children. Stephan is a graduate from The Master’s Seminary, a ministry of Grace Community Church where John MacArthur is the senior pastor. He is completing a Doctor of Ministry degree focusing on expository preaching within the context of African Traditional Religion.
This Sunday evening, 30 March, 6:30pm, is our evening service. I will preach, Stuart Mc Farlane will lead worship, Open Doors will interact with us about the state of the persecuted church in the world. And we will join together in prayer. There will be no online prayer meeting. Bring a plate of finger snacks and join us from 5:45pm.
Are you able to help?
We have a young Christ Seminary student named Evans Odhiambo visiting Benoni Baptist Church from Wednesday, 2 April. He’ll be staying in the residence next to the office. We’re sure he’ll be well accommodated in the bottom bedroom. We have need of a 3/4 base and mattress (slightly wider than a single bed, smaller than a double, measuring 107cm x 188cm). And a desk lamp. Are you able to loan us either of those two items through the month of April? If so, please contact Colleen at the church office: +27 11 425 1992, benonibaptist@gmail.com.
A small change
I’m sure you noticed how full our Sunday service is getting. This past week was a squeeze. Once again we’ll bring in as many chairs as we can to the main hall. We’re adding a small change to our Sunday service. During the notices, just after we welcome new comers, you’ll have a short time to greet them, and the people around you. We’re doing this because we’ve realised that there are so many new folk. We need to help the congregation to connect, and get to know one another. Please do make an effort to greet one another warmly this Sunday.
