Two events for men take place tomorrow, Saturday 9 May. I want you to know of both.
First, the men’s Bible study meets at 9:00am in the meeting room. Coffee will be ready. So will a passage of Scripture. There is no need to RSVP. Just pitch.
Second, a preaching workshop runs at the ABK Seminarium (1 van Riebeeck Road, Allen Grove, Kempton Park), also at 9:00am. This is for those of you who preach, who teach, or who desire to grow in handling the Word. We will consider how to preach different kinds of biblical texts. No RSVP required. Just pitch.
Settle this in your mind: the Word of God is living and active. Do not neglect the gathering together of brothers around that Word, whether to feed your own soul or to sharpen your skill for the sake of others.
One more thing. Sunday is Mother’s Day. There will be chocolates for the mothers in our congregation. The children in Sunday school will be working on a Mother’s Day craft. A photo booth will be set up so you can take a picture with your family (see some pics attached). Use the day to honour your wife, your mother, and the women who have spoken God’s truth into your life.
